Core Values

COMMITMENT TO OUR NEIGHBORHOOD
We encourage, support, and invest in the growth of a stable community by working toward economic and social justice and sharing God’s love with our neighbors.

As Jesus’ followers, we honor and serve one another as equally valuable members of the Body of Christ.

CARING COMMUNITY
We strive to create a safe place for developing relationships and encourage one another to be responsible for our own actions and answerable to other members.

DEPENDENCE ON GOD
Through the power of the Holy Spirit, we seek to increase our dependence on God by studying God's Word, hearing it preached, and obeying its truths, and through prayer, worship, and fellowship.

CELEBRATION OF DIVERSITY
As God has created diversity, we embrace people of all races, ethnic groups, nationalities, gifts, and experience and welcome the opportunity to learn from each other.

Denominations

Maple Avenue Ministries is a union church of the Reformed Church in America and the Christian Reformed Church, which gives us membership in both denominations. The union church concept is an ongoing, Spirit-led renewal movement in both Reformed denominations that is energized by these principles:  The Bible is our final authority of what we believe and how we should live; God has reunited us by God's unconditional grace through faith; and Jesus Christ is Lord of every area of life and of all creation.

Reformed Church in America is a fellowship of congregations called by God and empowered by the Holy Spirit to be the very presence of Jesus Christ in the world. Our shared task is to equip congregations for ministry--a thousand churches in a million ways doing one thing--following Christ in mission, in a lost and broken world so loved by God.

Christian Reformed Church believes as people called by God, we gather to praise God, listen to him, and respond. We nurture each other in faith and obedience to Christ. We love and care for one another as God's people. We commit ourselves to serve and to tell others about Jesus. We pursue God's justice and peace in every area of life.
